Homemade oat facemask

Making a homemade facial mask.. For this oat facial mask all you will need is oats and water, and thats it -easy and simple to make and use!

Firstly, clean your face with water only. Never use soap. Its best to open your pores with a hot face cloth before hand.

For a facial scrub, moisten oatmeal to a gooey texture, use it to scrub your face (avoiding your eyes). Wash off with cool water (to close your pores).

If you would like to make a paste with oatmeal, blend the oats until they are fine add just enough water to form a paste (as little or as much as you desire). Allow your homemade oat facial paste to dry, and remove with cool water.

I have used this recipe plenty of times in the past, not only is this oat recipe cheap in cost.. but it is also lovely to use. This recipe is suitable for all skin types (including dry skin).

Twitter

Twitter is another social networking website (just like facebook). With twitter you can send and read messages (these are called tweets), one tweet can hold up to 140 characters, and well...basically the more 'tweets' you have the better.. Then there is 'followers' this is your friends list, yet again the more 'followers' you have the more 'popular' you look, when you want to see friends updates/tweets you 'follow' them and their tweets will show up on your hompage.. Many celebrities 'tweet' too, -like Katie Price, Lily Allen, Fearne Cotton.. and so on (a genuine celebrity will have a blue tick, so you can identify the fakes)

Facebook

Facebook.. I'm pretty much addicted to it! I've had facebook for around two years now and I find it just the best thing ever for finding out the latest gossip, or even for when I'm just bored and fancy having a wee snoop on someones page.. Oh and I also find having a chat bar on facebook very handy to have too for when you want to talk to your friends, or to see who's online.. although fb chat seems to be 'uptating' or 'unavailable' quite alot.

HOLLYOAKS

YAAY Hollyoaks.. I first started watching Hollyoaks, what feels like ages ago! I first started watching it as it would be on every day as my mum would be watching it, YES my mum! That was a while back around the time Becca was stabbed in prison, Mel and Sophie (Justin's twin sisters) died in the fire, and Tom's mum and dad were in the car crash because he didn't put on his seat belt.. So I'm not too sure on dates or anything but i guess 2007 sometime?..

Hollyoaks is on telly every Mon-Friday night at 6.30, and the omnibus is on on a Sunday morning/afternoon
Ever since I was first introduced to Hollyoaks I have been addicted and if I ever miss and episode I have to catch up on E4 or watch the omnibus.. Hollyoaks have such good actors (like Tony Hutchinson) who has been in the show since it first started..

ALL of the MacQueen family are all just fab actors and are hilarious to watch, I can imagine them all getting along well in reality too..

Another thing I love about Hollyoaks is that the story lines are always great, they don't drag on for ages, you don't get bored or fed up of watching!

Short Gaelic Ulpan course

I'm doing a Gaelic course in the college, and I'm doing this course via the 'Ulpan' learning method -which is basically a 'fun' way of learning. Ulpan is a Welsh way of learning, you first start to repeat words, speak sentences and then gradually you begin to spell and write.

This Gaelic course is only short, it is part-time and is only for approximately twelve weeks.

So far the Gaelic course has been good, the classes have been fun and interesting, we learn a reasonable amount in the time given. We take part in a series of learning games with the use of cards and bingo games (so we come to terms with the words we have learned in the days lesson).

This way of learning is much different to the more formal methods used in schools, I feel it is much easier to understand and to participate as the classes are not dull and lifeless..

My college has recently been re-named as a 'university', so I guess I can now say I go to university haha..

My pets -Kimberley Avangeline and Kardashian

So I have three pets (not including my brother) x2 rabbits and a dog.

I got my two wabbits as a birthday present in December 2010, they are boy and girl (brother and sister) so myself and my sister named them Avangeline and Sabastion.. They went to the vet at the end of January and I found out that "Sabastion" is in actual fact a girl, so that means they can't breed and there was actually no need whatsoever to buy that second hutch in case they bred. Oh and by the way 'Sabastion' now goes by the name Kardashian.

'Sabastion' or should I say Kardashian is a Satin Angora rabbit and although she comes from the same liter as her sister Avangeline she looks very different. Avangeline is just your basic rabbit (can't remember the name of her breed).

Then there's Kim (or as I like to call her to annoy my mum -'Kimberley, or Kimmy). She's a border collie, all black and about a year old.. She's a very cute and hyperactive dog who's very attention seeking! She's spoilt rotten and always manages to sneak her way up onto the sofa or the bed! :)

My top online clothes shopping websites

So I have a major online shopping addiction, I mean what girl doesn't like shopping, and when you can do it in your own home, score even better! Although I tend to look online more than I actually buy, I wish It was the other way round and I bought more.. but that wont happen unless I get a job! Anyway.. moving on..

1. River Island is my top online clothing shopping website, why? This is because River Island have a wide selection and I'm guaranteed to find something that I really like. When I am purchasing anything from the website the item is always in stock, which is a good thing because I don't feel as though I need to buy it in case there will be none left by the time i am finished browsing.
  • Pros: Simple website, well categorised, good sale prices, recognised by many people, quick delivery time, great sale choice, latest fashion
  • Cons: I prefer their old website layout, expensive express delivery price
Overall..

    My top haircare products -January

    1. Ok so I got this haircare product at the very beginning of the month and i cannot fault it at all! I am in love with it.. and that product is Herbal Essences 'frizz fighter' shampoo and conditioner (not two in one)
    • Pros: Great for tuggy hair, no need to wash your hair every day (like I used to before using this product),  product is not tested on animals, attractive bottle, amazing mandarin smelling shampoo and conditioner, hair is manageable after first wash, hair still smells great after a few hours, hydrates your hair, can be purchased in most shops and supermarkets
    • Cons: Seriously I have nothing bad to say about this product other than the fact they could maybe produce a smaller bottled shampoo and conditioner for travelling
Overall i would recommend this product to anyone who suffers from frizzy hair. My hair is dyed, and because of this I find that it is quite delicate, brittle and prone to frizziness, so i also try to leave my hair to dry naturally.  I have tried most of the Herbal Essences shampoo range and have been satisfied with them all. This specific shampoo smells gorgeous, as do they all though.

    2. My most favourite styling product at the moment has got to be Tony and Guy 'daily styling conditioner'. I got the Tony and Guy gift set as a Christmas present and did not start using it until January, I have used each item in the set but I am most amazed about the daily style conditioner.
    • Pros: Leaves hair super-duper hydrated, leaves a gorgeous shine that will get you compliments, small sized bottle (great to take on holiday), suitable for all hair types, loved by both male and female users, doesn't make your hair greasy, great for every day use, helps control frizzy hair, thick product (rub together in hands before applying to hair)
    • Cons: Using too much at the same time could lead to hair looking greasy and heavy feeling, a little over-priced when not included in a style set
Overall this product works well in my hair. I find that you have to get used to the product first (don't use it once and decide straight away that its not for you), experiment.. use a little first and see how it works, get used to the texture. I personally am very fond of this product, I must admit it it took me a wee while to grow fond of it though.

    My top skincare products -January

    1. Okay, so I'll start with my ultimate favourite skincare product used in January which is.. Biore pore unclogging facial scrub. This product was my first ever purchase from Biore, and I was amazed at how pleasant smelling this scrub was.
    • Pros: Cheap compared to other products on the market, smells lovely, works quickly, face feels refreshed after use, helps prevent breakouts &get rid of blackheads, scrub is gentle to skin, smaller softer beads (compared to the solid larger ones you can get in other products), good texture (not too thick nor runny), little amount needed
    • Cons: I would not recommend this product to those who want a product specifically for acne of spot-prone skin, leaves nose the tiniest bit shiny afterwards
Overall I would recommended this product as it is inexpensive, packaging looks fresh and simple, i feel that this product is very effective and is also great for sensitive skin.

    2. After the cold winter weather my skin was dry in areas so i turned to the good old E45, you can't really go a miss there. I find that it works well for all areas which are suffering from dry skin. E45 is also very well known to help people who are suffering from eczema.
    • Pros: You can find this product in most local drugstores, helps your skin feeling soft and hydrated, can be used by most skin types, inexpensive, can be used all over body, un-fragranced so it cant go wrong with people who don't like smelly products, easy to apply and rub into skin, quick absorbent, product sized can vary from large tubs to small (easy to carry) tubes
      • Cons: Skin can be left a little greasy looking, personally i would not recommend using under makeup as it can become sticky
Overall great for the winter season, (not to sure if it would become oily and greasy in the summer), can be purchased in most shops in various sizes pots/tubs/tubes.

      3. Next is Garnier's pure active spot fighting 24hour moisturiser, I started using this product about a week ago as my skin had came out in a breakout. EUGH! I purchased this product as it is kind of a two-in-one method (a moisturiser and a spot-fighting/preventing cream)
      • Pros: Helps prevent the breakout of spots, does not leave skin feeling greasy, absorbs into the skin quickly, reduces spot size, nice appearence

      • Cons: Difficult to find in any store, (I purchased mine from Superdrug and have never seen it in any other shop), personally I do not wear this product under makeup as it can make my skin feel quite clogged, but i would recommend that if you are going to buy this product to use once a day then I would suggest using it at night after you have washed your face
Overall works best as a spot-cream rather than a moisturiser, inexpensive, fights against preventing break-outs very well, noticable improvement within a few days (depending on skin type).

      My very first blog

Hi. I'm Rebecca, or Becca as i'm more commonly known as. I'm new to the world of blogging and think that now would be a better time than ever to start blogging. I am going to try and blog every day if I can.

So in my first blog i'm just going to tell you all a bit about about me, blah, blah, blah! (I'm probably boring you already, sorry!)

So where do I start?.. I'm female (obviously, if you haven't gathered by now), i'm sixteen and am from the UK. I was born in Scotland and still/always have lived here. I live on a small island called the Isle Of Lewis which is pretty rural and there is not much to do here!

I'm not sure as to how long the average blog is supposed be, I do hope you have enjoyed reading. Thanks x
